Center of star features silver gilt plaque with laurel wreath detail and green, white and red enameling.
Plaque reads "SS": (Saint Stanislaus) and the motto “PRAEMIANDO INCITAT”: translating to (Rewarding Encourages).
Made around or before 1900.
Reverse is stamped with master silversmith mark: "ил" - Itska Lozinsky - Moscow 1892-1908
Reverse is stamped with makers mark "ЗДУАРАЪ" translating to "Eduard".
Reverse is stamped with a pre 1908 kokoshnik assay mark with an intaglio engraved left facing woman's head within an oval cartouche. To the left of her head is the standard mark (84 - a zolotnik silver fineness number “84” for 875 Silver ). To the right of her head are the Assay office initials (AP). The reverse of the pin stem and ray points are also stamped with the kokoshnik assay mark.
Brooch measures 3.5" across.
